The Wine
Rosso di Montepulciano is made with Sangiovese grapes in Tuscany, around the municipality of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena. It must not be confused with Montepulciano wine, which is made with Montepulciano grapes – grown all over Central Italy and especially in Abruzzo. Rosso di Montepulciano is a medium bodied wine, fruit forward, easy-drinking, and food-friendly.

The Winery
Poggio Golo winery is located in the hills of Cervognano, in Tuscany, Central Italy. This area, between Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana, is renowned mostly for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, one of Italy’s most prestigious wines. Poggio Golo’s Rosso di Montepulciano – not to be confused with Montepulciano d’Abruzzo – is made with Sangiovese from this area.
