The color is a gorgeous ruby red which truly embodies the spirit of Morellino. The bouquet has aromas of dark fruits, blackcurrants, blackberries, with a balsamic hint and a touch of chocolate. The taste is fresh and full, reminiscent of ripe dark forest fruit, a nice lingering taste, with nice crisp acidity and light tannins on the finish.
This superb Italian red is perfect served with roast lamb, porchetta, wild boar ragout, pizza or soft cheeses.
Scansano, a medieval town and commune in the Tuscan province of Grosseto, Italy, is famous for producing Morellino di Scansano wine. Pietramora's 2010 Brumaio Morellino is an outstanding wine, one of the best Morellinos you will find. The name "Brumaio" is a reference to the morning mists which settle on the vineyards of the Maremma region in fall as the grapes are ripening.
